Read everything about the beauty industry that you can get your hands on magazines, books, business stories/reports, blogs and twitter. This shouldn’t be hard now a day where everything is easily assessable.Besides if you really are passionate about the beauty industry you will already be well versed in everything and this will be second nature.

Be persistent! Just because a position isn’t available doesn’t mean it won’t come available. There is no harm in contacting companiesthat interest you. A good way to start the conversation is asking to do an informational interview. This allows you to develop a rapport, find out more about the company, and get some tips on getting ahead in the industry. Always follow up to show that you are interested.
